Oh Baby London had a starring role in the super cool and beautifully styled Jessie J video. The song, ‘Who’s Laughing Now’ is a message to the people who bullied Jessie at school and features loads of Oh Baby London styles making the cast look über awesome...
We like it.
Fearless TV investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre and his wife Ameera are featured in this week's Hello! magazine with their gorgeous new baby Hunter (wearing, ahem, green Oh Baby London trainer socks of course!)
And here's Hunter looking über-cool in an Oh Baby London Biker Playsuit, with big sister Allegra looking like a little supermodel in our shearling Biker Jacket.
So here is our super dooper faux shearling Biker Playsuit, featured in the lovely Junior Magazine's January Issue.
We love Junior magazine, and we fink they love us too. We first graced their pages in their February 2003 edition, when Oh Baby London was just a few months old, and my little darling Frankie was just about to be born.
I look back now and can't quite believe that I started Oh Baby London at 6 months pregnant. I schlepped around organising samples and selling the little collection into stores on my own, veeery pregnant and with no idea. But I was high on third trimester creativity and a sense that if I was creating life I could do anything.
And what a cracker of an issue it is this week! The Big Issue features us in their 'Locked Up London' feature this week...
Support the great work they do by buying this issue.
(there's a 'lil voucher in there from us too, but you'll have to buy it to find out more...)
Here we are, featured in Gurgle Magazine's fab December Issue. Our signature 'I Rock' guitar print t-shirt in black and gold looks the business in their gorgeous shoot.
Living Etc magazine's lovely December issue features the blue Vespa Rocking Scooter gracing the shelves of Oh Baby London this Christmas. Pre order one now for mid-November delivery. They come in pink too...
Here at Oh Baby London HQ we were proud as punch to have to have our 'I'm a Long Term Investment' playsuit featured in this weeks Hello! magazine on Countryfile's lovely presenter Julia Bradbury's new baby, Zephyrus.
What a cutie pie.
The Sunday Telegraph Kids Magazine, ST Kids, rocks big-time. Fashion forward, high-end and featuring Oh Baby London's A-for-Awesome Bambi Cushion.
Our new 'Eighties Kid Goes Luxe' collection of baby blankets and cushions are handmade from true vintage 80's pop-culture fabrics, which we have quilted and backed with super-luxe faux fur.
These pieces are Limited Edition, and made to be kept forever.
Oh Baby London featured in this weeks Grazia! The article shows black and white checked Vans available both in our wonderful little shop on Brick Lane and online.
Imagine my surprise and joy when I watched The Apprentice last night, as I do... religiously.... and Tom walked into Oh Baby London to get inspiration for branding on the fast food task.
Woo Hoo!.... or OMG!!! as the lovely Jo texted. Jo, our treasured intern who is sadly leaving us to go back to Uni after a fantastic year at Oh Baby London, is my Apprentice buddy and we are both addicted (and a tad sad I hear you say).
A couple of days ago Jo was sold flowers in Spitalfields by the contestants of next series of The Young Apprentice, and met Karen. I mean, this was exciting stuff, although Robin was not moved. "You've had your 15 minutes of fame now Jo", he deadpanned.
Anyhow, the best was yet to come last when the semi final of The Apprentice aired last night and we were on at 12m10sec
It was so long ago they came and filmed, and they told Jo it was for an interiors programme... so last night was a sweet surprise.
Here's Tom checking out the merchandise....
and getting inspiration from our branding.... and close up on The Oh Baby London Logo (nice work Dad!)
So needless to say I can't wait for the final.
Love Tom, but he would have to seriously look for his mojo, which he doesn't seem to have found yet. Susan? Love her energy, think she's gutsy and has a lotta potential but needs time. Jim? 10/10 for confidence and bravado but for me just too much of a bulldozer. Helen? She's proved herself over and over, and is a damn good bet - lacks fire in her belly but man she knows how to get a job done well.
All will be revealed when we see their business plans....
Can't wait.
The oh-so-lovely folks at Anorak magazine have chosen the Biker playsuit for their last minute Christmas shopping list. We like you, Anorak... we like you a lot.
They say: "For the budding biker, the coolest playsuit you will ever find, comes with all the right zips in all the right places!"
Planet Awesome Kid, the cool NYC blog about all things NYC kid street style-like started by ex model agent Julia Samersova has this to say about the new Oh Baby London Biker Playsuit:
"I. Just. Fell. Out. Of. My. Chair.
This rarely happens, but I am in shock and awe over this Oh Baby London Biker Playsuit.
It is a limited edition item and only 200 have been produced, so you better hurry!
Made from ultra-soft, thick and snuggly 100% cotton jersey, brushed on the inside for extra comfort.
To say that we love it, is putting it mildly. We are head over heels for this BIKER."
I love New York, have been a few times, in fact it was the first real big city I visited as a teenager from little ol' New Zealand. I fell in love with it then, and after several visits have begun to wonder if it is my spiritual home. Have always had a deep desire to live there, but alas, alack have never quite made that happen. I love that it's like a villagey London, London with a smile on. Yes, I heart NY. Bigtime.

The mother of all rows breaks out over doulas
Author: By Jeremy Laurance, Health Editor
In the latest example, an anaesthetist from Worthing Hospital has penned an invective in the esteemed British Medical Journal (BMJ) against the rise of the "doula", the female supporters who assist women through childbirth and whose popularity is growing rapidly on both sides of the Atlantic.
Around 1,000 doulas ? the word comes from the Greek meaning "woman servant" ? are thought to be practising in Britain, a three-fold rise in six years. They charge from £400 to £900 for a care package, which includes antenatal visits, labour, postnatal visits and being on call. The idea was imported from the US where there are more than 100,000 doulas who provide support to expectant mothers to challenge the technological tyranny of the medical establishment.
I have heavily, heavily edited - it's a good article so why not view full article here
A big congratulations to Amanda Lamb on the birth of her little girl Willow Rose.
Here she is featured in this weeks Hello! Magazine, wearing Oh Baby London (a style icon already!).
We are really short on stock of the pink Doily Print Kimono top and pants set Willow is wearing, and it looks so gorgeous so hurry if you want it...
Here's my baby looking like the superstar he is in his Dude T-shirt in the Mirror's Celebs on Sunday magazine.
(Lucky Frankie doesn't read my blog, he's very nearly at the stage where he'd kill me for calling him my baby. Not literally of course.)
Oh Baby London starred in the "coolest stuff for your cuties" feature.
Thank you...thank you very much.
Hurrah!
Opening on the 31st January is the "Top to Toe - Contemporary" exhibition at the stupendous V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green.
Oh Baby London is part of the exhibition and we couldn't be prouder.
Our signature style, the "Been Inside for 9 Months" Playsuit will be displayed alongside a select few other London brands, who will go unmentioned here (ha ha).
Since 2002, when the world of baby clothing was a style-free zone, we have pushed the pastel boundaries to create clothes that reflect the energy, indivuality and hilariousness of our little babies. And it feels great to be acknowledged by the V&A.
For more information check out the Museum of Childhood website. If you haven't been there before, you gotta go! It is a piece of heaven for kids and parents alike... and it's FREE...
V&A Museum of Childhood
Cambridge Heath Road, London E2 9PA

East End Life did a little feature on us this week:
"Oh Baby opens up to art
A fashion designer who creates clothes for children has her sights set on expanding her burgeoning business by linking up with arts in the borough.
New Zealand born Hannah McHalick has carved out a niche as a baby-dressing expert having appeared on several television programs and the runaway success of her Oh Baby London shop in Brick Lane.
Hannah started the business on her own with no savings in the bank and, being a mum to two small children herself, it was a big challenge. In the past five years she has built up a successful children's clothing line, which is stocked in more than 100 stores worldwide from Harvey Nichols in London to Isetan in Tokyo.
A graphic designer by trade, Hannah was distressed to find only bland kids clothing after her first baby was born. She was determned to create a range of clothing that was more fun than fluffy bunny prints.
For her first collection, Hannah created the much imitated "Been Inside for 9 Months" babygrow, which has been a best seller ever since.
Not content with designing a capsule collection every couple of months, Hannah has opened her doors to the culture vultures by linking up with the First Thursdays initiative where galleries and museums across London are open late on the first Thursdays of the month....
The shop hosts monthly exhibitions including installation, painting and photography. Hannah has also collaborated with Heba Women's project on Brick Lane.
Heba is a trainging and enterprise project for women from diverse cultural backgrounds. Hannah asked the group to create a collection of blankets for Oh BAby London, which proved to be a big success.
The shop also works with the Psychiatric Rehabilitaion Association in Dalston offering work such as stock taking to participants so they can play an active part in the community...."
Nice to see we're in the time out shopping and servcies guide!
"'Been Inside for 9 Months' reads the logo on Oh Baby's best selling black-and-white striped babygros for newborns. The witty brand was started as an "allergic reaction to pastel", on a mission to introduce more jaunty kit for babies and children aged to about four. That said, the new baby gift sets (bib, towel, toy, £22) come in conventional pastel pink and blue - but they're very sweet all the same. We love the striped leggings and pack of toddler pants i bright cotton."
Yes, we do pastel pink and blue now, it was around about when I had Connie three years ago that my pink switch was flipped back on. These kids, they've made me go soft.
Here I am in Prima Baby & Pregnancy giving my top tips for dressing you newborn baby.
I'm working with Fairy washing powder through their Fairy Godmother campaign. They've enlisted about 100 mums to give advice and support to other Mum's and Mum's to be, and I'll be their baby fashion expert! Kinda funny, but I guess I do know my stuff by now. I've used Fairy since Frankie was born so it feels good to be working with a brand I really trust.
More on how to dress your newborn:
- Don't be afraid of bright colours, babies are so gorgeous they can carry any colour and look fab in black!
- Make sure you take at least one key piece to the hospital with you so your bundle of joy can become coolest kid on the ward.
Fantastic French urban fashion and culture magazine 'WAD' featured Oh Baby London in their latest issue. If you love fashion, graphics and have an urban sensibility you'll love WAD magazine as much as us.
Here's what they said...
"Is the Brtitish sense of humour learned in the cradle? For those babies who don't take themselves too seriously (if that's possible), Hannah McHalick took advantage of her graphic-design training and in 2002 launched Oh Baby London. Babygro-style suits come in prison uniform-like black and white stripes and bear the words "Been Inside for 9 Months", while T-shirts are covered with twisted song lyrics such as, "Don't you wish your baby was cute like me?" The labels credo of "cute but cool" is assured by the quality of the materials (100% merino wool jumpers for example) and the sheer number of prints. www.ohbabylondon.com"
The french magazine 'Milk' magazine is my favourite children's fashion mag, so I was really happy to see us featured in their London special this month...
"A little closer to Shoreditch, on Brick Lane, famous for it's indian restaurants, hides a very, very small boutique at number 162. Oh Baby London has beautiful cotton clothing including printed tee-shirts with messages like "Been inside for 9 months" to pop into your suitcase and take back for your french friends"
Fashion retail bible Drapers Record liked what they saw when we launched our new collection at Premier Kids this January:
"Boutique label Oh Baby London has introduced a machine-washable range in merino wool this season. The Charles Dickens-inspired range is made up of pink and dark blue product, including tiered dresses and button detailing. The brand has added denim for autumn, alongside a snakes and ladders print on clothes and footwear. Prints are key, from music and butterfly inspired designs to leopard and geometric prints. It's premature baby range has also been extended."
That's a sneak preview of what's in store for you in our Autumn Winter 08 collection, which will be in-store and online from August this year.
This weeks issue of Bella Magazine features Oh Baby London, saying:
"If you need to buy a cool baby or toddler gift then Oh Baby London is one of the hottest shops on the web, with beautifully packaged gift sets for your pal's new arrival. Fave buy: I Rock Gift Set, £30, 0-3 months - 12-18 months - a must have for mums who want their babies to make a style statement"
Couldn't have said it better ourselves!
Buy this issue of Bella to enter a competition to win this and other super cool prizes...
Grazia Magazine this week feature our "You are all Dinosaurs" bodyvest.
Just how happy were we to see it in one of Oh Baby London HQs favourite mags?
Very happy indeed.
